Invest in a low carbon fuel future
Why Invest in Low Carbon Fuels?
Market demand is real.
The shipping & aviation sectors combined contribute approximately 6% of global (GHG) emissions. Challenging to electrify, their operations require the high energy density of liquid fuels. Fuels such as sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and low carbon methanol are "drop-in" solutions that can be used with existing infrastructure, making them the most practical pathway to decarbonisation..
The pragmatic fuel.
Concepts like green hydrogen and pure e-fuels are facing significant economic and operational hurdles; investor confidence has been shaken by over-hyped projects. By contrast, technology to produce fuels using biogenic feedstocks is proven, economically viable, and ready to be scaled today.
The time is now.
Industry demand is no longer a future concept, it's here now. Global airlines and shipping companies are actively seeking long-term off take agreements for low-carbon fuels to meet both voluntary targets and significant sustainability mandates by 2030. The technologies needed to achieve these targets are available today.
Government tailwind.
Strong policy signals from around the world are accelerating the global transition. The Australian government is firmly backing this transition, creating a supportive environment for first-movers like HAMR Energy to lead the domestic market. Programs like the $1.5B Future Made in Australia fund and the $2B Hydrogen Headstart program are favourably timed with our project pipeline.
Australia’s strategic advantage.
Australia is uniquely positioned to become a global LCLF powerhouse. We have an abundance of sustainable biomass feedstock, a stable political environment, and the strategic imperative to strengthen our domestic fuel security, meet decarbonisation goals and drive regional prosperity across Australia.

The right time, the right team
HAMR Energy are on a mission to accelerate decarbonisation for hard-to-abate sectors by commercialising large-scale LCLF production. We build, own, and operate an integrated platform that connects sustainable feedstock resources to customers.
Our flagship project, Portland Renewable Fuels, will be a significant piece of Australia's future energy infrastructure.
The project will use residual forestry biomass as a key input, and once operational will create:
300,000 tonnes p.a of low carbon methanol
320,000 tonnes of C02 abated per annum
Decarbonisation of up to 90% vs fossil fuels
Enough to decarbonise 3.5 million domestic trips from Melbourne to Sydney

Why HAMR Energy?
We’re engineers, not bankers
Our track record is in developing large scale complex fuels and chemical plants and supply chain solutions
Credibility & Connections
Our approach will win by collaborating with our strategic partners to create projects with strong industrial logic, compelling returns and innovative customer solutions
Innovation at Scale
We have build a pipeline of projects ready for scaled capital deployment and execution, with over 1 million tons of low carbon liquid fuels production capacity under development

Yes, HAMR is currently raising its Series A round. Funds will be used to advance pre-FEED, FEED and regulatory approval work across multiple LCLF projects. Learn more here.
-
Methanol is safe, flexible, storable, and can be upgraded to SAF at scale. It enables low-cost, secure fuel production using existing infrastructure and a wide range of renewable carbon sources.
-
HAMR Fuels helps customers decarbonise by offering advisory services, logistics support, and long-term LCLF supply tailored to aviation, maritime, and industrial users
-
HAMR Energy’s lead projects span feasibility to pre-FEED stages. For example:
Portland Renewable Fuels (pre-FEED, operational 2030)
SAF Energy Park (feasibility complete, operational 2030)
Additional projects across Melbourne, Western Australia and New Zealand are in advanced feasibility stages
-
HAMR Energy’s platform achieves large-scale decarbonisation outcomes by replacing fossil fuels with LCLF alternatives. For example, the output of Portland Renewable Fuels is enough to decarbonise around 3.5 million passenger economy trips from Sydney to Melbourne every year, whilst also addressing land use, waste management challenges and food and fuel security.
-
Led by former execs from ExxonMobil, BP, and Swire, HAMR Energy’s team has delivered major energy projects globally. They bring deep technical and commercial know-how, with a focus on practical, integrated LCLF solutions for customers.
-
HAMR Energy has formal arrangements covering over 100% of its key project inputs and outputs. Its leadership is actively progressing these toward investment-ready status.
