Our Commitment to
First Nations Reconciliation
HAMR Energy acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia, including the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Gunditjmara people of South-West Victoria and the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains, and we recognise their enduring connection to land, water and community. We pay our respect to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all First Nations people today.
We recognise that Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, not a single milestone and we are committed to continually learning and improving how we work with First Nations peoples and communities.
First Nations engagement is central to how we develop our projects. We recognise that genuine engagement takes time, care and patience, and that it must begin well before key decisions are made not after. As we progress our projects, we are committed to building early, respectful relationships with Traditional Owners and communities, to listening first, and to ensuring First Nations voice shapes, rather than follows, the decisions that affect Country.
We see First Nations partnership as an opportunity, for shared economic benefit, local employment and procurement, and the co-design of outcomes that matter to communities and we are committed to being a genuine, accountable partner as those relationships develop, including working towards a formal Reconciliation Action Plan over time.
