Myamyn BioHub is the front end of Project Shearwater, HAMR Energy's fully integrated forestry-to-fuel program. It is a dedicated biomass pre-processing facility that turns under-utilised forestry residue into a stable, energy-dense feedstock for renewable fuel production.
The BioHub will process 600,000 green metric tonnes per annum of forestry residue sourced from the Green Triangle, Australia's largest sustainable plantation forestry region. Co-located with an existing sawmill, the facility uses torrefaction, a controlled low-oxygen thermal process, to drive off moisture and volatiles. The result is a dry, brittle, high-carbon biomass that is materially cheaper to transport and significantly more efficient to gasify than raw residue.
Pre-processing the residue close to where it is harvested is what makes the wider program work. It removes water weight before the long haul, lifts the energy density of every tonne moved, and delivers a consistent, specification-grade feedstock to the downstream conversion process.
The torrefied product is then shipped from the Port of Portland to HAMR Energy's SAF Energy Park at Port Adelaide, South Australia, where it is converted into low-carbon methanol and upgraded into sustainable aviation fuel.

Feedstock Supply
Myamyn BioHub draws on under-utilised forestry residues, such as harvest offcuts and thinnings, sourced directly from the Green Triangle. These are a by-product of the existing timber industry and provide a scalable, sustainable carbon source for renewable fuel production.
