Project Shearwater

Project Shearwater is HAMR Energy's forestry-to-fuel flagship project. Residue from commercial pine plantations is prepared at the Biohub in the Green Triangle, then converted into sustainable aviation fuel at the SAF Energy Park in Port Adelaide. Each year the two sites will turn 600,000 tonnes of plantation residue into 300,000 tonnes of low-carbon methanol and 140 million litres of sustainable aviation fuel. For both regions, that means new local jobs, new investment and a valuable use for material that would otherwise be underutilised.
